The last day to charge a meal in the OISD cafeteria will be May 15th.  If a family has special circumstances concerning charges they will need to contact Mrs. Michelle Wilson in the cafeteria.   Charges need to be paid by the last day of school.
 
 
 Baseball Playoff Schedule:
Baseball send off on Friday, May 26, at 2:15 along Mustang Alley 
Game 2 vs. Woden 5 PM Friday, May 26
If a third game is needed it will start 30 minutes after the end of game 2.
All games are being played at Gary High School located in Gary, Texas.
(Gary ISD is located in Panola County near Lake Murvaul)
From Henderson, take Highway 79 towards Carthage
Exit right onto FM 1970 and continue to FM 2260 (you will cross Highway 315)
Turn left on FM 2260 and in about two miles turn right on FM 10
You will turn left onto FM 999 and take the first street (Williams) before Gary ISD and it will take you around to the baseball field

Overton ISD's Board of Trustees approved the Innovation Plan as presented by the innovation committee on April 10, 2017.  The district will now begin making decisions about how best to implement the plan for the upcoming school year.
 

 

Overton ISD Wins Prestigious Award
Overton ISD was presented the Billy Hibbs Safety Award from Claims Administrative Services for exemplary safety practices resulting in the lowest loss ratio in 2015-2016.  Along with the plaque the district receives a $500 scholarship for one of the graduating seniors.  The award was presented to OISD at the Texas Association of School Administrators Midwinter Conference in Austin.
 

Overton ISD and both campuses earned the Met Standard accountability rating by the Texas Education Agency.  Met Standard is the highest rating given by TEA.   

OHS RECOGNIZED BY US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT

Overton ISD Statement of Nondiscrimination 
It is the policy of Overton ISD to not discriminate or engage in harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, or any other legally protected status in its educational an dvocational programs, services or activities or matters related to employment as required by Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended, and the SEction 504 of the Rehabilitation act of 1973 as amended.
This policy also prohibits retaliation against an individual who has made a good faith report of unlawful, discriminatory practices, opposed any unlawful, discriminatory practices or participated in an investigation of any complaint related to an unlawful, discriminatory practice.
